Medtronic team meeting: good collaborations making a difference in patient care

Today I had the pleasure of joining the Medtronic team meeting and collaborate on tackling respiratory compromise which still affects so many patients in hospital, being responsible for higher (and preventable) morbidity, mortality and associated costs.

Education of nurses and doctors in sedation, drugs, capnography etc is crucial. As a nurse I’ve seen first hand the lack of knowledge/skills on this topic on so many settings. Despite UK and International standards and guidance there is still so much work to do. It is great to see a large company like Medtronic designing strategies to make patients safer, nurses and doctors more aware and clinical environments more prepared.
